Korona POS Journal Entry: Sales Summary

Here we discuss the accounting automation available for Korona POS

Korona POS is a cloud-based point-of-sale (POS) system and Bookkeep enables you to integrate your Korona POS to automate journal entry postings.

For Korona, we offer a daily sales summary journal entry. This sales summary relies upon the end of day statements within Korona.

The sales summary journal entry posts to your accounting platform on a daily basis the sales from the prior day. This aims to capture the gross sales down to the net sales including discounts, refunds, etc as well as the breakdown of payments by tender type.

Below, we review an example of what Bookkeep recorded versus Korona POS.

1. Bookkeep aligns with the End of Day Statements that can be retrieved from Korona for a specific day.

You can locate the data in Korona from the left navigation under the sales section. From here you can click the End of Day Statements link:

Once you are on the End of Day Statements page, you will need to select the Point of Sale as well as the day for review:

This will give you the statements to compare against Bookkeep:

2.  In this example, we are reviewing 7/19/23 and below shows what Bookkeep posted:

3. When viewing the End of Day Statement for this date, you can see the gross sales and other relevant net sales items to tie out the Bookkeep entry.

You will see the commodity group revenue ties to Bookkeep gross sales:

Additionally, you will see the sales tax which aligns with Bookkeep above:

Finally, you will see the payment methods align with what Bookkeep posted above:
