Multiple bank accounts and payouts in multiple currencies

Shopify easily enables you to sell internationally. As a result, they offer a feature where stores can connect multiple bank accounts for their various currencies. For example, a business selling in Canada and the United States could connect two bank accounts and receive payouts in CAD and USD currencies with Shopify Payments. Payouts are sent to separate bank accounts that are in each respective currency. For example, orders in CAD currency are routed to your CAD bank account, and orders in USD currency are paid out into your USD bank account.

Bookkeep offers this advanced feature to enable you to have a separate chart of accounts mapping per bank account as shown below (a chart of account mapping for the Bank of Montreal and another for Fifth Third Bank).

For each deposit or payout from Shopify, Bookkeep then checks the bank account that the deposit is being routed to and posts that deposit to the correct chart of accounts mapping. This streamlines your Shopify accounting process and ensures that deposits post to the correct bank accounts in your accounting platform.

If your Shopify store leverages this advanced payout feature, please contact [email protected] to have this enabled for you.
